Just arrived in Bali and can't get data roaming to work on my phone or my wifes.

It is great to see Skinny extend their service to provide better roaming rates, but are their any know issues or tips/tricks for Bali.

Both of our phones have roamed with Data over in Australia recently so we know it isn't a device issue.

The carried will connect for calls/txts but data either shows up as
- Service Disabled - or
- Connected, No Internet

I'm going to give them a call when we are up in the morning local time, but I'm hoping the Geekzone collective can provide guidance.

@openmedia Have you tried a manual network selection to another carrier in Indonesia? This generally will resolve about 90% of roaming issues

Only one of the 5 networks here will actually let us connect
IND TELKOMSEL

The others refuse

Also I've tried forcing 3G which made no difference

Roaming steering may be in place so try forcing it to the same network about 4 - 5 times

So I've got working calls and txt, but we can't get data to work on Bali on either of two phones.

The remote support team at Skinner were awesome and spent about an hour yesterday trying to resolve the issue, but at this stage I just can't get data roaming to work..

Thankfully there is plenty of free wifi around, but I'd like to have data when I'm out and about.

One good part of their new roaming plan is the 200 minutes are valid for all of the listed contries, which means I can call UK, Australia and NZ using the incuded minutes while i"m over in Bali.

@livingskinny do you use dual IMSI SIM's for roaming?

Nudge for @livingskinny

I did finally get data roaming working on my phone as eventually it roamed from Telkomsel to Indosat.

I also tried to get my wife's Nokia 5 to change over but it wouldn't change of Telkomsel even after reboots and attempts to force the network.

I can confirm that whilst roaming calls to UK numbers came out of the roaming minutes which makes them excellent value.
