Why do companies do this? It is like they are intentionally trying to be a pain in the...

Wanted to find out my broadband usage. Called and didn't want to spend 50 minutes waiting. Signed up to myspark login to find out usage now it says:

'If you’ve just registered for MySpark and added your account number, we’ll automatically update your preference to ebill.' WHY? I don't want ebills and didn't get asked if I did. Can't see an option to change it only an option to change the email address they are sent to???

Move with the times.  Save the trees.

Most companies do this now. If not for “saving the trees”. Though they argue that. It’s to save on the $1+ postage.

Yep. As my folks still want to receive a paper bill, I can't check their usage. It's a one way street, so until the day they hit the allotment and incur overage...

They charge $2.50 for a paper bill.
Also if you pay by credit card they charge as well.

You can see any money owed in the applic, and then when paid it drops to zero next day.
The email contains a link to full bill, which can print if have access to printer.

Can also go to old bills in applic, and see what data usuage currently is.

I don’t see issue with email bills.

Swapping over to eBill has been in place since MySpark launched after replacing the old MyTelecom portal. It's been that way for about 3 years now, perhaps 4.

If you need to swap back to paper bill you need to ring up the helpdesk and get your MySpark portal registration cancelled and paper bill re-enabled. You can't have a MySpark online portal account and not receive your bills electronically which was a deliberate decision from my understanding.

Easiest way if you to receive via email and print as needed

Reason is I am not the account holder and the account holder doesn't use email and is not interested in using email or a computer. That is no reason to change the billing setup without informing the user that is what will happen. Now I have to spend the time sorting it out and changing it back.

in order to add a service to your myspark, you would have been required to get permission from the account holder.

The link is only valid for a month.

Tried to help a friend review various usage for the prvious 3 months....

PITA.

An email with an attached bill would be a lot better.
