Hi there, the internet isn’t being very helpful so I thought I’d try here. I have the B315S modem with an external antenna and it worked very well at my old place. Just moved and seems I am on the cusp of 4G. Spark were pretty unhelpful and couldn’t reconnect me at my new address because I don’t have an address! I’m assuming it didn’t fit a box somehow. I’ve got the modem running but it obviously won’t work because the SIM is blocked now and Spark won’t unlock it to let me trial coverage here. When I search for networks manually it comes up with Spark 4G but I can’t connect with either the existing SIM or the one out of my mobile phone. I’m trying to change the preferred network mode from 4G to 3G to see if that works but the drop down is unresponsive. Any ideas why this might be the case, is it locked by Spark also? I know there is H+ and 3G floating round here and 4G it seems, because I have another Spark phone hardwired to a Yagi also on site. Cheers

They are 4G connection only as I understand and 3G can't be selected so working as designed

You need to do a connection move before connecting the Wireless service at the new property.

There is a process front line can take you through to sort out any sort of address missmatch, turnaround there is normally pretty fast.

Based on your description, you may be outside of 4G broadband coverage (although 4G may be possible, it may not meet required values to be a valid connection without network derogation)

Sparks WBB service is only 4G, no 3G at all.

Thanks guys, I figured as much. I guess I will have to abandon the 4G idea even though the modem finds Spark, Vodafone and 2 Degrees 4G networks when I do a manual search. If only it were as simple as calling Spark and getting them to move my account. I have lost count of the hours I’ve spent on the phone or online chat to Spark. It’s pretty disappointing, and you never get to speak to someone with the technical knowledge to assist. I live on an island with no roads or street address. System can’t cope!

Can you DM me details and i'll have a skim?

Can't promise anything as i'm heavily under the pump in office hours right now, but at the very least i can get this with the folk that focus on Wireless broadband to see if there aren't any gaps.

Could be a case of misunderstanding, but i'm wondering that's not the case if you have spent hours!
