Spark dosent do any sort of transparent proxying etc on business connections do they ?

Have a job where a particular site is blocked to anyone outside AU - client put request to have access, which was granted and was working perfectly fine for a few weeks - now theyre blocked again and the server owners say they havent changed anything and confirmed the clients static IP is still whitelisted.

TIA

i'd recheck the correct IP has been whitelisted and that it's actually static and not just hasn't changed until a reboot happened..

If it's a Spark Digital customer they may be using the Managed Proxy service using the Cisco Web Security Appliance. I know N4L use it and a number of other large corporate customers not SMEs or home users.

Normally you have a COE managed desktop that pushes down the explicit proxy configuration in the managed browser or they will use a proxy.pac file as it isn't implemented as a Transparent Proxy only a standard Reverse Proxy.

Not sure the specific customer but they should be able to contact their account manager and find out.

A quick way to test this would be by going to http://whoami.scansafe.net

As long as it comes back saying "User is not currently using the service" you're OK.

What is that checking for exactly ? Looking at the source, its just a static page.

If you were behind a CWS proxy (as mentioned by BarTender) it would spit back some information regarding the tower you were on. It's only for CWS not anything else proxy wise.

Thanks for that, I remember there was a site but couldn't remember the URL, it has been a while.
