Seems to be a major DNS issue. I have changed to 1.1.1.1 for the moment.

honestly you need to provide more info.

what sites, what checks have you done with your network? define slow.

provide pings/traceroutes, speedtest etc

your post is useless without it and you wont get much help until you do

The issue is that IP addresses are taking multiple attempts to resolve or not resolving at all. Changing DNS server fixes the issue.

Yes on Spark. Since 6.30pm sites intermittently not loading. Rebooted router.

I. E. Google play store shows up dates but when applied says downloads pending. Sky EPG intermittent loading. FB Looks Ok but no video playback. Twitter can't load tweets. Outlook email intermittent. ASB banking access intermittent. Etc. Only testing on tablet at present.

when you post a thread with an issue you need to provide data so people can help

im on spark with no issues so.....

if you provide more info people can generally help get to the bottom of the issue faster

And per usual, their own social media page is loaded with complaints and on-hold times related to.

So yes, there is a problem obviously.

Yes there is a DNS issue with websites loading very slowly.

Temporarily set your DNS to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 will solve it while they work on the issue.

Yes, DNS has also been slow on Bigpipe for at least the last couple of hours. Anything obvious wrong in this traceroute?:

I am on Skinny and based in Mt Cook, Wellington. Router is the HG659 B with the default settings as provided by Skinny. As soon as I changed to the cloudflare DNS server the issue went away.

Same for me, on Spark/Xtra Fibre in Auckland. Google timed out (ethernet), Youtube buffering (wifi). Restarted desktop and router, seems marginally better but still some Youtube buffering.

Went to Spark's website, nothing listed under their outages page for Internet.

Seems some of the biggest complaints is the hold message advising people to check that site when they can't get to it heh :P
