I have a Spark prepaid SIM card running in a personal medical alarm. To be sure not to run out of credit I want to check the balance online. I gather I should be able to do this through MySpark, so I have signed up. All good so far. Next I click the button "Add new product or account" and enter the phone number. Spark then sends a verification code SMS to the device, which I am supposed to read and enter in the web page. But here's the rub - while the alarm can send and receive SMS, there is no way to read the received messages. So now I am stumped.

Any advice as to how I can resolve this will be much appreciated. Please don't tell me to put the SIM into a regular phone. Two reasons:
  1. The alarm device is sealed, so I don't want to open it unnecessarily.
  2. I don't have a Spark capable phone here.

Thanks in advance.

Call Spark they might be able to add the number to your SparkNZ profile / login. I know VodafoneNZ could quite easily
