I'm not sure why you would want McAfee anywhere near your PC in the first place!!

Its free from Spark .
I needed to quickly install a AV product .
McAfee actually not all that bad (depending on version I guess) , now owned by Intel . Not the same product as when it was bad.

Intel sold the majority of its ownership back in 2016 to TPG.

The talk in the last two weeks was for an IPO.

didnt work.
Of course I tried that. Also did a search via xtra's page & a search via google
Never got to anything that even looked like a download link, just linked to pages that didnt even mention McAfee
even the required email confirmation got blocked/lost in @xtra email system
:-)

btw , its 2019 , not 2008
Replace the name McAfee with the name Intel & do most wont have such a low opinion of it . McAfee is now just a brand name .
AV Products that were once really bad have actually improved (some good AV did get worse after being sold off ).

Intel sold it off a few years ago, and it might not be the utter garbage it was for awhile but I still see zero compelling reason to pay for it (or any other AV) over Microsoft Defender.

Don't use McAfee, even if it's free.  Just use Windows Defender.

Hi there,

Thanks for the feedback.

This not working would land on my desk, This thread is news to me.

I have just ran through the process of downloading mcafee through spark's website, all has gone well.

Can you DM me your details so i can pull out some logs and have a look at exactly what went wrong?

Please also ensure your using the myspark journey others have detailed above, If there is another page linking somewhere else, happy to fix that.

As for the spam issue, Good to know, I'll speak to the folk about fixing this one. As with any spam filter, sometimes it gets it wrong - that's why you have a spam bin not a void.

Simple things like moving the emails into the inbox from spam, actually does help to train the filters.

That's patently untrue for consumer security software in my experience over the last few years.  Windows Defender is the only one I can think of that has consistently improved it's core function, while also improving its resource requirements and efficacy.
