Hi all,

I am wondering why I am only getting up to 250mpbs on speedtest.net (and other apps such as Steam), Whilst on the spark speed test I get up to 930mbps.

Does anybody know why this is?

The connection on my end should not be a problem, as I am running Cat6 Ethernet directly to the router.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

because the whole internet does not work at your max connection speed.

try using the windows 10 speedtest app to a few different local servers. failing that download and boot to a linux distribution and test under that.

then try a server in Australia and see what you get, then try one in the USA and see what your get.

if the local ones are showing 700+mbps then there is zero issues.

It also seems that lots of Speedtest servers are no longer very accurate as they get smashed by automated testing by the likes of Unifi Security gateways to give "pretty graphs" on numpty's dashboards.
