If you have to run heating in winter, you don’t own enough computers.

Seeing widespread outages in Invercargill.

Latency to Auckland has jumped from 20ms to 110ms on 2degrees, and the handover of one of our wholesalers appears to be isolated from the rest of their network (We can talk to sites on the same handover, but no further)

I'd expect that the remaining fibre paths will be super congested, or because they're backups, they have much less capacity than the primary paths.

Spark fibre at my place in Dunedin is down also. I show a pppoe0 connection still and am sending data out but only little intermittent bursts of data is coming in. There’s no DNS joy and I may have to entertain the teenager with sock puppets 👍

Seeing unverified reports of a fibre cut in Timaru, so traffic south of there will be taking the long way around or failing depending on how provider networks are set up
