My neighbour had fibre installed today and asked me for help. Inside the house is a white box smaller than an ONT and no lights... it has a white clip over it and a green optical connection port on the underside. There just doesn't seem to be an ONT.

She has the spark router but nowhere to plug it in... her excitment about having internet quickly faded :)

Didn't get a photo unfortunately.

Sounds like it’s a new Nokia ONT - don’t know why they’d install a blank box. Either way, not really a Spark issue

There isn't a Chorus catagory and spark is her provider, so following correct channels

Are they in a @ChorusNZ location or another fibre provider area?

Does that clip onto another box behind it? That part isn't there.

Cloud spending continues to surge globally, but most organisations haven’t made the changes necessary to maximise the value and cost-efficiency benefits of their cloud investments. Download the whitepaper From Overspend to Advantage now.

Kinda irony to your footer. there is a part missing ;)

install can't be complete.

Normally they would still install the ONT though and do the rest as an inside-out install.

Really strange as the ETP seems to be all installed... maybe there is another issue that stopped them. I'm guessing the landlord knows but hasn't shared that info :)

Thanks for the replies!

Someone who's approved on the account will be able to have a chat with the Fibre folk and get some further details. Quite likely it's been detailed aswell as hopefully explained to the customer that was present.

Maybe got kinda confused in conversation though?

surprised you didnt find the rj45 for Phone, unless that bit hasnt been done yet too.

Note, it's the ITP not ETP, ETP is the one that put on the outside of the house.

That photo is of my ONT @hio77 ;)

It slides off in the direction of that arrow:

Looks like the provisioning guys have not been yet to install the actual ONT, just the external fibre install. Depending on the service guys this may be done in 2 jobs.

This. As part of final connect, the tech should plug your modem into the ONT and check its passing traffic.

@sittingduckz if you want to flick through the address i can just double check that, but I'm pretty sure this is the case.
