I recently upgraded to Bigpipe gigabit plan and have done series of speed tests with the Speedtest app on a MBP, first three tests were ethernet cable to edgerouter4 to ONT…, awesome results I am happy with.

Next tests were MPB wireless to UniFi nanoHD to EdgeSwitch 10XP to Edgrouter4 to ONT…, Question is why is the download to Wellington and Auckland tests crap ? (Yes I know on wireless I will max out about 600Mbps)

Any Ideas ?

No its not although I thought gigabit plan would be a big step up from 200/20 plan but in reality the upload speed is the only improvement

To the Christchurch server yes but I would have thought the download to Wellington and Auckland would have been the same just higher ping considering the wireless maxs out at 600Mbps the upload is fine.

600Mbp/s in perfect radio conditions and no one else around you using Wi-Fi as it's a shared resource

True, the results were just single user on the nanoHD what I having trouble with is if I get 900+ download on ethernet, 500+ on wireless to Christchurch servers and 700+ download on ethernet to Auckland surely the wireless should still be 500+ to Auckland ?

What is your MCS rate for both upload and download while conducting the tests?

Cloud spending continues to surge globally, but most organisations haven’t made the changes necessary to maximise the value and cost-efficiency benefits of their cloud investments. Download the whitepaper From Overspend to Advantage now.
