Our EdgeRouter lost connection to UNMS in Azure at 8:44pm and hasn’t reconnected

Checked with a mate in Ngaio, on Spark, he has no issues so wonder if it’s localised to Karori

I tested with a HG659b and no internet either.

It’s establishing a PPPOE connection, can trace route things but can’t access anything - just get connection reset

Anyone else?

Edit: Wife said that there appears to be multiple people posting on the I love Karori fb page, using various ISP’s that are having issues

Chorus issue?

Love how the only ISP that have acknowledged any sort of outage is 2dgrees, but for mobile calling data in the Wellington

I feel sorry for those on Bigpipe and Skinny who have zero support at this time

I doubt support will do any good anyway, just have to wait for it to come back up.

I can't find my Skinny supplied modem/router (must have packed it somewhere obscure) so I don't think they'd be much help even if they were available.

From 2degrees website

We know some 2degrees customers are having difficulties in using data and making calls on their mobiles in Wellington area.

We’re sorry for the hassle and rest assured our technicians are working hard to fix this for you, ASAP. Again, our apologies for the inconvenience and thanks for your patience

Agreed, but I guess the more people that report it the more likely someone will tell someone who will tell someone etc

I’m glad I kept our HG659b for that reason, initially I thought it was the edgerouter but it hasn’t been touched in months

The irony is I've been meaning to get a 4G LTE modem to failover to when fibre goes down, and it would likely be 2degrees, which wouldn't of helped the situation last night 😂

Spark UFB Rotorua - just lost internet connection, flicked over to Google DNS, and things came right, so Spark DNS may be down

Hmm, maybe something else going on here.  Looking at my router I had 222.152.42.16 and 222.152.42.17 as my DNS.  Switching to the ones listed here - https://www.spark.co.nz/help/internet/set-up/dns-settings/ - got things going again

Edit: DNS 222.152.42.16 and 222.152.42.17 are broken

Those 222. addresses are the Akamai parental control servers... Akamai had a hiccup this morning. The main Spark BB DNS servers never had a problem.

Akamai also quickly resolved their issue as well.

Cheers - N
