So until I can get a human on the phone,
(Pending Human understanding my concern) the chatbot is not much help, anyone from Spark around know ?

New Spark Summer Streaming 3 Months free with Unplan Netflix offer..
Looking at this offer, but a bit confused with the fine prints.

On the offer it looks like you sign up for Unplan Netflix, can add Neon and Sport, plus the Netflix credited for 3M.
Then autocharged after that unless you cancel.
Conditions re cancelling before the magic day of the month, the last waning of the moon before billing period ends stuff.

Additionally it seem to indicate in fine print you can cancel the Netflix, effectively downgrading to Unplan.
While there is a 'big' penalty for early cancelling Spark completely, no mention of penalty for downgrade.
Spark web elsewhere talks a lot about Flexibility to change add ons anytime etc.
So while you sign on for Unplan Netflix for 12M, really you are singing on for Unplan for 12M and can kill Netflix anytime with no penalty ?

https://www.spark.co.nz/shop/endless-entertainment.html

"" Fine Print on Offer ---
Entertainment offer available on Unplan Netflix. Only includes Netflix, Neon and Spark Sport. New or upgrading customers only.
""
Neon ($9.95) and Spark Sport ($24.99) will be auto-billed after 3 months unless you cancel. Max 1 of each subscription per account. Standard subscriptions included.
The $10 Netflix Standard (HD) additional charge on Unplan Netflix will be credited for the first 3 months and auto-billed after 3 months unless you cancel or downgrade to Unplan.
-----

When you go to sign on for Unplan Netflix you get the small print that this is for 12M, with associated penalty for cancelling.
No mention of any Downgrade penalty. Other pages on Spark hail the flexibility to downgrade/upgrade add ons anytime you like.

Its just that looking at it, I don't want to be bound to paying for Netflix for 12M if its not my thing, Neon looks more promising.
Can't afford streaming services for 12M that I won't get value out of or time to view, unfortunately.

Ok got answer that they really mean the 12 Months is to keep a connection with Spark.

So you can shift down from Unplan Netflix to Unplan, without penalty anytime .

So as an existing customer on Unplan Netflix could I downgrade now to be eligible for this special?

I did try get them to give me the special but they said I wasn't upgrading, but they never gave me the option to downgrade and upgrade... I am out of contract now.

Im now in a position to move ISP.. YAY.

Does anyone know if Spark let you choose the "swap over date" (i.e. sometime that suits me and after I get their router posted to me etc).

Valcor,

I 'gathered' that 'theoretically' what Spark want to get out of this is you tied to them for 12 Months.
So thats the exchange in value for 3 Month free trial of Spark Sport, Netflix, Neon, which many may keep ticking over once in.

Fine print says you can cancel Netflix, effectively going back to Unplan, at 3 Months of it free.
The message I got in chat was no penalty if you stay with Spark, but it was chatspeak, so not complete clear offer.

So I offer no guarantee or indemnity , its at your own risk re below.

As you are off contract.
You are a new 12 month potential indentured slave, you should be welcome.
However the way the offer is presented in the Marketing might it might be pot luck depending on who you talk to and what they can do.

If you can get something in writing , then you are armed if it goes funny.
Unless a Sparky Geekzoner can clarify.

I kinda when on with life.
I hear from Netflixers that its not what it was, and Neon, as Amazon, Disney etc start to tie up content just for them.

I'm told I need to get out more anyway :-)

Regret its not much help.

I unticked the answer message, above as the chat answer may have been more vague than I first thought.   My apologies.

Ok , sorry its a bit of a mess as you have limited time to re-edit.

I did get a second statement from Spark Customer Adviser Nimash.

"Yes you can down grade the Unplan Netflix any time even though you’re on 12 months contract, as long as you’re broadband with spark".

So one 'should'  just be tied to Spark for 12 months, not stuck with Netflix if you don't like it.

However please do double check with them for whatever you propose before clicking.
I'm not Spark staff myself so my word is only as far as what rep has told me.

So I'll retick the answer above, but please do check with them to ensure your circumstance fits.
