I was about to switch to Skinny, which my GF uses, but saw they no longer have rollover data on the mid sized plans.

My GF still has a rollover plan. Does anyone know if they will allow any new sign ups?

The endless data seems pointless, and as a student I am on campus or at home most of the time with wifi (under 2gb on mobile per month normally). But when I go on trips I burn through loads of data and end up hotspotting off others. Rollover seems to best for bursty data.

Thank you.

$16 plan and up has rollover data dont know what you determine a mid size plan but when you hit the $36 plan its unlimited data after you burn through the plan data

As @Jase2985, look at https://www.skinny.co.nz/pricing/plans/ Rollover or unlimited on every plan except the $9/28 days.

Sorry I was not clear. The endless data is not useful for me because the speed cap is so low, it is barely enough to browse the web. I would rather bank 6gb of data to use when away.

My original question was if anyone knows if skinny is wiling to allow rnw signs for up for the mid-tier plans with rollover data rather than endless (speed limited) data?

As already mentioned, the $16 and higher plans have rollover data. You don't have to use the endless data weekends if you don't want to.

Didn't skinny change this so you could only get rollover on the $26 or below plan? The rest are endless data, no rollover.

I didn't realise that there are now two separate things called Endless Data. Nice and confusing.

The T&C explicitly say no rollover on the "endless" plans. Very disappointing.

nzpaul: [snip] the speed cap is so low, it is barely enough to browse the web.

I've hit it, and found it still perfectly useable. Depending on the source, could stream up to about 720p video, and web browsing was totally unaffected.

It is possible they are traffic shaping because youtube 720p is 5mbs so you should struggle at the endless speed of 1.2mbs. Even web browsing *should* be painful. That is clever of them.

I hotspot when away and there is no way they are going to allow hotspotting at more than 1.2mb.

1.25GB of rollover data on the $16/month plan, plainly stated on their web site, https://www.skinny.co.nz/pricing/plans/

That's more than I use so I've banked the maximum, as I'm in WiFi coverage most of the time.

I've switched one of my sim's to 2D from Skinny for this very reason, loosing rollover data on the higher plans.

I use to buy one (or two) months of the $70 plan, bank a big chunk of rollover data, then stay on the $16 plan the other 10-11 months a year.
Useful when my usage would go up/down depending if I'm away from home or not.

I do the same now on 2D, one or two months of $70 / 25 GB, bank the rollover data, then sit on the $10/$19 plan the rest of the year.
