Hi

I need to courier a replacement power supply for a Skinny/Spark V9517 Smart Modem to a remote location. Can anyone please confirm required specs?

The B618 is 12V, 2A, tip positive, 2.1mm - I wonder if that is common across the Huawei range?

My plan is put the right tip on this with the correct polarity before I send it.

Cheers

12V 1.5A. Centre positive. Approximately 3.5/5.5mm from eye-balling it with a ruler.

Thanks, got tight for time so couriered it yesterday afternoon with a range of plugs. Voltage and polarity correct, that seems to be quite a large pin though. Hopefully the 2.5/5.5mm works.

Since this will probably come up in future did you ask Spark if they could supply a replacement?

Not as yet. If this doesn't work that'll be the next step. I already had this one here and spare and I don't know for sure yet that the original power supply is the problem.

The Huaewi plug packs are the most universal plug pack out there! they fit pretty much all Huawei routers and also Intel nuc's Meraki's  and pretty much anything that takes 12v so it should work.

Except that the Smart Modem is NOT a Huawei - it is Arcadyan

iI would say that it should be fine providing the barrel jack is the right size and its + center pin.

I don't really see much information on the box at all at a quick glance

The pin in the Smart Modem socket is ~3mm so the usual 2.5mm plugs won't fit.

A call to Skinny has them sending out a replacement modem and power supply. Waiting on the tracking details, I hope it arrives by the deadline . . .
