On my last iPhone i was able to disable VoLTE on Spark, but on my new iPhone 13 this option isn't listed.

The Spark 4G network around Northland drops calls really badly but on 3G its pretty good. The only way to have a usable call is to wait for a patch of 3G only coverage then make an outbound call.. Not ideal.

Anyone know a way around this?

Googling around indicates the option is carrier dependent. Have you tried being in a strong 4G area before looking for the option? That probably makes no difference just something I would try.

There are a lot of RCG sites in Northland so 4G should be fairly good? Any areas where its notably bad?

Edit: you will need VoLTE on due to all the RCG sites with most being 700mhz 4G only

We can disable it on the sim itself, though I dislike doing it should it then need to be reversed in future. Plus I am not sure if residential support teams are able to directly, they may have to log it through to one of the behind the scenes teams. We can then also look and ensure the towers are doing nothing too strange at the same time, perhaps helping other people out too.

Best bet is to call, and log a fault.

@Zeusssy You mean disable it on the network side on the MSISDN? VoLTE is not a SIM feature

Yes, correct. But at work i am never dealing with anything but iccid# which in turn lets us change the msisdn. You are correct it is on the number where we can deprovision it, should it be what is required
