Our company seems to be getting blocked from the Spark website. We get an error when trying, same machine coming from a different external IP has access.

Spark making it tricky to find any contact address for this kind of thing - can anyone advise an address that works?

Is the Spark website saying it has blocked you or is it a more generic message?

Who is your ISP?

Error is pretty generic - can only assume its from Spark website or whatever lies in front of that.

Error reads

The requested URL was rejected. Please consult with your administrator.

Your support ID is: 12769435654401XXXXX    (incrementally increasing number)

[Go Back]

ISP is DTS

We tested changing our external source IP and confirmed only our main IP gets this error, when we NAT out though a different IP the site works fine.

Is it the main spark website affected? All websites? a specific URL only? Do you happen to have a vast number of requests happening (lots of users at once or a script scraping something?)

Is the error page from a Spark server or a front end? Does inspect source tell you anything?

Cheers - N

Screenshot/error message would be a huge help - no one has a crystal ball.

That doesn't look like a message that is being sent from  Spark's Webserver,

its coming either from your browser, or internal firewall/proxy,

Have you checked your browser configuration to see if it's using a company proxy?

All traffic passes out via a UTM firewall. As noted, changing the source public IP enables access to spark.co.nz, change IP back to main IP and website becomes unavailable again. Spark working fine until yesterday afternoon.

We think we understand the issue is related to the source IP address but I need a contact at Spark who might be able to check their side - hence my request.

Is it just the one computer or multiple with the same issue?

A post on Stack Overflow indicates that that message comes from "Application Security Manager" by "F5 Networks". Do you know whether your company is running that?

UTM firewall? I am thinking this is a network misconfiguration more than Spark blocking your requests - more likely the requests don't even leave your network. Talking to your IT admin.

No, please. That looks like a search engine spam site with badly written guides.

No, our firewall is Fortinet.

To reiterate - the same browser instance on the same machine CAN access spark.co.nz if we change the source public IP address and simply refresh the window - no other changes are necessary to get the site to work. We have tested different machines running different operating systems and different browsers (using inPrivate and portable versions) to rule out other possibilities - keeps coming back to the public IP address (or something beyond our vision anyway)

This is why we believe it to be something not liking our public IP (but no clue as to what/where that might be)
