Anyone know where in this modems settings you can add third party DNS servers? I have tried in the IP Address Pool section of the Network>LAN page, where it say primary and secondary DNS, and entered in the 2 IPs, and also ticked 'customers DNS' but this doesn't work

Try the WAN/Edit... WAN DNS settings... This is the location on my SM2.... would probably be similar for SM1.

My first ever AM radio network connection was with a 1MHz AM crystal(OA91) radio receiver.

Thanks, that worked! I didn't think it would be hidden away like that, where you have to click on the Edit PVC button on one of the four settings on the WAN page. It was so much easier to do on the older Huawai spark modem.

A few days late to this conversation, sorry.

I assume this is for the Smart Modem 1 (VRV9517).  When I try from the LAN settings (Network > LAN) and set Customer DNS this works fine for me.

Before:

Wireless LAN adapter Wi-Fi:

After:

Wireless LAN adapter Wi-Fi:

   Connection-specific DNS Suffix  . : home
   Description . . . . . . . . . . . : Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 8265
   Physical Address. . . . . . . . . : -------------------

   DNS Servers . . . . . . . . . . . : 1.1.1.1
   NetBIOS over Tcpip. . . . . . . . : Enabled

Now I would point out that I am likely running a newer firmware on this modem than is currently in production, so that is a possible factor.

All in all, if it was broken on the SM1 current firmware, there is a new release coming that will fix it.

Do you know if it is going to be possible to adjust DNS on SM2 using fixed wireless? The settings don't seem to affect FWA connections, they just get overridden
