guyz: very tempting

Sure... if you wanna go and lock yourself into technology from 2007 until 2011, on a network that is yesterday's news. It's not even a good phone... I have one and the only thing that makes it bearable is being sort-of able to run Android on it. I am praying to God that Telecom secured at least one Android phone at the Barcelona WMC. The Okta Touch? Avoid, avoid, avoid.

I have had "3", all have been great until they failed though I think funky software loads were to blame, the one I have currently has been flawless as I had it reflashed from Telegistics when they replaced the board just to be sure and 9 months without a problem. (same casing, display etc which has lasted very, very well)

News on the street is that 6.1 is out though I want to see it before upgrading.
There are some superb apps for the Okta touch which might not be to everyones taste but I think it works well and the data is solid.

Bear in mind the phone is not the best in low coverage though.

Telecom's site says "Get a Free upgrade worth RRP$149 to our new network launching June '09."

As the Touch (which I believe is actually an HTC Vogue) is a CDMA device, does that mean that they'll replace it with a WCDMA version (HTC Touch?) for free?

Edit: After a bit more reading, it appears that they'll subsidise $149 towards a new phone. You can also break your CDMA contract and move to a new 2-year WCDMA contract without penalty.
