Do telecom plan at all to offer naked dsl? I have a voip server (trixbox) set up at the moment but no real point unless we have naked dsl. I don't really want to move as we are currently on the Telecom Pro (40gb) and the speed is really good all times of the day so if we were to move ISP it would have to have equally the same speed.

Thanks for your help

Telecom don't offer any Naked ADSL plans and have not announced any plans to launch any.

Lets see... you definately want to avoid xnet and slingshot and you probably want to avoid vodafone and orcon.

Hmm Snap, haven't heard anything bad about them for awhile.

I have been a SNAP Naked DSL customer for almost 7 months now.  Excellent speeds 24/7 and excellent service.  Never had a single outage during that time.

Details of SNAP's Naked DSL plans are here:  http://www.snap.net.nz/home/naked-dsl/

No, 20GB is their highest Naked DSL plan as such.  However, there isn't any saving in subscribing for the 20GB vs. 10GB and paying the extra when you need it, so we just signed up for the 10GB and purchase extra data as needed.

If you buy a small amount of extra data the price is $2 per GB but if you buy 50GB, the price comes down to $1.50 per GB.

Yes, I know it's more than Xnet and Slingshot, but the performance for torrents is far far better.  My son downloaded 10GB in about 9 hours recently so it's fair to say that SNAP really delivers the goods when you need it.  But if you are looking for an ISP who gives you loads of off-peak data for nix, then I would suggest you go elsewhere.

Cloud spending continues to surge globally, but most organisations haven’t made the changes necessary to maximise the value and cost-efficiency benefits of their cloud investments. Download the whitepaper From Overspend to Advantage now.

Yeah it's hefty, but for the same price as Snap you get 10GB extra - so if you're vigilant about your usage Maxnet is definitely something to consider.
