Hi there.

We are currently in Singapore and not having any luck with 3 iPhones on roaming data on skinny mobile. Tried to online chat but didn’t get anywhere and got cut off.
All running iOS 17.6.1 - updating one to 17.7.now
Have a roaming pack loaded.
Roaming is turned on in the data settings.

Looking for any help or suggestions.
Been looking at APN settings but only has an option for personal hotspot. Reset APN has not made a difference.

Apparently you can free call them?

@Shoes2468 What happens when you try a manual network selection to another carrier?

Sometimes changing between carriers can help

Issue will not be related to iOS version your handset is running

My skinny roaming also not working in Vanuatu. I can send texts but can’t use apps. Just when I needed it to do a conversion. All settings appear as should and on 3G Vodafone here. Very annoying.

@Eva888 Have you done a manual network selection or any basic fault checking?

If you've never roamed in that country before I strongly recommend a full reboot. I've often had issues on multiple Android devices when we first try to connect.

Will try a reboot when in mobile range again tomorrow. Have it in airplane mode at present. I was receiving texts so that’s something. Not sure about the manual selection as it seemed to jump from Vodafone to another carrier.

I used Skinny roaming a year ago in Singapore, so it should conceptually work

I also use it regularly in Singapore. But sometimes after coming out of flight more and even forcing a network connection I don't get reliable data until I reboot.

I can’t see anything in the settings that would enable using the Apps. It keeps telling me to turn on mobile data which is on. I can send and receive texts. Tried calling Skinny, ring back Monday they say by which time the roaming package has ended. Using chat, time consuming and often get cut off and rinse and repeat. Not wasting more time on this. Wish I had brought my One NZ sim with me that I keep alive for emergencies.

Not good Skinny when I can’t trust that I will have roaming data when needed.

@Eva888 how do you know this is a Skinny issue?

I worked on a roaming fault once when VodafoneNZ customers could not roam on VodafoneAU but no issue on Optus or Telstra

VodafoneAU had made some changes that broke VodafoneNZ subscribers roaming
