I want to use my Samsung i325 with MSN messenger but it never came with the client installed which is daft, I have utterly no idea why they left it out yet installed Windows live search.

Does anyone know how to obtain an official one that works I have a few builds but all fail to install.
Or know of a good unofficial multi-client one that actually connects to the services directly without using an intermediate server system and does not drink battery?

I have tried IM+ but when I looked deeper it had references to an intermediate server hmmmm.

Have you tried palringo? It's neat, I got it on my BB go to www.palringo.mobi on your handset's internet explorer browser. otherwise get.live.com I think from your PIE.

Thanks for the reply

Palringo looks good but I'm pretty sure it uses an intermediate server instead of being a simple client that connects direct, the FAQ is quite vague on this.
"How does Palringo connect? Palringo connects over the internet and will not work through a proxy" hmmm, that's not telling me much but it seems to connect to the palringo account then then connect to the servers from there.

Is it free?

As for the get.live.com. I have never seen such a hideous way to try and get a simple CAB file!

After 10 minutes of navigating horribly set up pages and eventually faking my user agent, of course NZ is not listed and there seems no way to force it to send the link.

Palringo is free I wouldn't use it otherwise ... lol a bit tight I know hehe .. it has facebook chat, yahoo, msn and more, .. so only need one client for the whole thing ... I honestly don't know re windows live, you need one for the smart phone don't you? hmm..

Palringo uses its own servers. I was also unable to get it to connect at all, so I'm now using eBuddy which also uses its own servers (and works). It's really just an interim solution for me as I expect to pick up a new WCDMA phone in 6 months or so (I'd do it on launch day were I not saving up for a trip to the US!)

I'm running WLM 10.6.0034.0800 on both my Treo 750v and an upgraded iMate JAMin (WM 6.1) with no apparent problems... have you tried this version?

Thanks for the replies guys, Yes the main reason I wish to avoid third-party apps that connect to proxies is that I use my own proxy at times and also privacy concerns.

Tried that link, Thanks Fastmikey, it's a newer build than the ones I had originally donloaded but I get a "insufficient system priveliges" error message. I am running old software so I'll get that updated first.

If that fails I'll live with Palringo/ebuddy and look forward to my N95-3 on Telecom's new network.
