I have a Spark 3 modem which I have operating via Skinny.  Connecting with an internet cable provides 337/100 which is what I am signed up for.

However my phones and my laptop are only getting 70/30 via the wifi.

How do I improve my wifi?  I have tried changing channels (it is set to automatic) but no improvement.

70/30 is the 2.4 GHz radio. Check that 5 GHz radio is enabled and connect to that.

Spark Max Fibre using Mikrotik CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+, CRS125-24G-1S, Unifi UAP, U6-Pro, UAP-AC-M-Pro, Apple TV 4K (2022), Apple TV 4K (2017), iPad Air 1st gen, iPad Air 4th gen, iPhone 13, SkyNZ3151 (the white box). If it doesn't move then it's data cabled.

Thank you Spyware.

Are you saying that 70/30 is the maximum possible speed for the 2.4Gz 'radio'?  The modem shows that my phone is connected to the 5.0Gz radio but the speed is only marginally better.

Check it hasn't created 2 networks, one for 2.4 and one for 5GHz and you're connecting to the 2.4GHz one. If it has, see if you can create one which does both frequencies.

Interestingly I just got two readings of over 300/100 followed by 128/78 and 120/80!

The 5Ghz band will give you much faster speed over 2.4Ghz but the 5Ghz will not travel as far. it also depends on your handset / device what that can support

Local congestion on the radio channel, other internet use, distance to the wifi access point all contribute to lower speeds.
