Hey guys

I had previously been using wireless internet with a Spark Smart Modem 5G while waiting for fibre install. Now have fibre with skinny.

The provided skinny modem isn't very good and I was wondering if it was possible to use the spark modem for skinny fibre and what set up might be required to do this?

Thanks!

Absolutely you can.

If you plug it all in you'll need to change one of the settings to get it working for Skinny.

I don't have a SM5G in front of me, so take these instructions with a grain of salt:

1/ Log into the SM5G interface (http://192.68.1.254).  If you've never logged in before I think the username/pwd is admin/admin.  It'll prompt you to change this to your own password.

2/ Select Network on the left hand side.

3/ Select WAN at the top.

4/ Hopefully there is only a single WAN connection shown here (pretty sure on this model it will only be one).  So there should be only one "Edit" button.  Click this.

5/ Under the heading '802.1q' select the Enable radio button to "No".  You should not need to change anything else.

6/ Select Save Settings.

And you should be good to go!
