I recently discovered my Samsung M300 has a GPS chip installed  (Don't believe me? Go to MENU>SETTINGS>OTHERS and click Location - Read the message it shows!)

i was wondering if there is a free java application that i can download to my phone to access this chip, and if there is, where i can download it from?

Thanks In Advance

No idea if this will work or not, but looks like it could be related.

It's only "a-GPS", a cellsite based CDMA GPS setup that is not used here.

It will show the regular "sprint" "Location setting allows some services etc etc message with the word "Telecom" inserted instead.

The only telecom phones with working GPS are the Okta Touch, Nokia 6275, Nokia 6165i, Blackberry 8830, T-stick.

The blackberry I have personally never got to work so we can assume it doesn't or the GPS antenna is not there.

I have the other 3 handsets and confirm it works on those 3 with totally varying results and applications.

Touch- Google maps/Garmin XT
Nokia 6165i Built in basic java application
Nokia 6275 Built in basic java application/java MGMaps

And the HTC Titan, but requires upgrade of the firmware to unlock the GPS. I have Garmin XT working successfully on my Titan :-)
