Hello,

I know that the whole Go large thing was probably news from 2 years ago, however I am one of the lucky people with it but have a question?

Does anyone know if the download speeds are capped for Go Large customers. No one has ever contacted me to say I have excessive traffic etc..... On a speed test my speeds are about 3500kbps.

Any thoughts?

Thks

No caps but they have limited the speed for that plan.
Talking with Telecom they say the 'speed is not consistent and not reliable' and will try and push you onto another plan.

Thanks guys!

Do you think that the lack of speed is worth considering new plans. I generally download 30GB a month or so?

cheers

I use to have Go Large but gave it up for Telstra In Home. I found the speeds on Go Large (esp. Upload speeds) fustrating and love the speed with Telstra. If you are having no serious speed issues I'd stick with Go Large.

Iam still on Go large and been using it for about 2.5 years now and have no issues with speed. But the main reason iam staying on go large is that iam downloading lots of data each month like and any other plans whould be just way to expencive for the amount of data iam downloading

upload speeds on Go Large are capped at 128kb/s ,  which means your max download speed is something like 5Mb/s IIRC

Was Go Large 49.99 or 59.99? I can;t remember.

If you use about 30GB/month then two options for getting FS/FS would be Adventure (59.99 for 20GB)  but you would have to restrict your usage a bit,  or Pro (79.99 for 40GB)  which is a bit more expensive.

You might not get much of a speed increase right now (although it may well be noticable if you are a gamer)  but when you get cabinetised you will not be able to acheive ADSL2+ speeds without switching to a FS/FS plan.

Thanks for that. Great info. What do you mean by Cabinetised?

I was going to resize it but got distracted and forgot.

It's a bit crap that geekzone's layout breaks so easily, auto resizing imagery is pretty common place on most forum software now.
