The prefix will remain 027, unless a number is ported in to the Telecom network with a different prefix.

(I.e. if you get a new connection on XT Network, it will be an 027).

I think the precedent here is that they changed from 025 to 027 with the last network launch. I wouldn't have been surprised if they went back to 025 with this network (although as already mentioned by others, that's not happening).

Its going to be 027

Telecom wll have a SRRI and when numbers move from the CDMA network to the WCDMA network they will point the SRRI at the HLR

No one will need to change there number

This is definately not happening.

With Portability prefixes become totally meaningless these days anyway.

I'm well aware that's not happening, I was just pointing out that it's happened before and may have been why hamish225 thought it might change again :)

Edit: Although I had a bit of a brainfart when I said I wouldn't be surprised...

Dont hate the player - hate the game.

It's not number portabilities fault, its the individual carriers for carrying on different price for on/off net calling.

You can Text a number to 300 and it will text you back telling you which network the number is hosted on.

there are 3 telecom prepaid plans, the mate rates is most commonly used but is expensive to call other networks, this plan is best telecom to telecom. However they also have a prepaid anytime and a prepaid mytime. The prepaid mytime can call other networks off peak for 49cents a minute the mates rate would cost you $1.39 for the same call

So do what everyone else does and carry 2 phones and check the number before calling.

would be nice if someone would make an app that would go thru your contact list texting the numbers to 300 and then putting something infront of the name for ones that were off network for that handset.
