Hi,

I presently have the Go Large plan with telecom which for some reason is very very slow; I’m a photographer so I upload images, I use several upload programs one of which is Filezilla, which shows me my speed, which, if I’m lucky I get 10kps, and often my files get corrupted in the process?
I phoned telecom twice to see if they could help; on both occasion they said that my upload speed was faster than most up to 600kps, first time they recommend using an Ethernet cable, instead of wireless, I now have one and it makes no difference?

Does anybody have any idea why my upload speed would be so slow when telecom our saying its a lot faster than what I’m getting? My phone call ended with telecom saying they couldn’t do anything for me as everything looked good from there end?

I use under 10gigs a month, so the amount uploaded is not excessive?

I have a D link ADSL router, have no idea if that’s the problem?

I was going to change providers but the providers said they would be using the same lines so there would be no difference in speed.

Go Large is an old plan which is capped at 3.5mbit down / 128kbps up.

Telecom will be seeing your sync speed to the exchange which will be 600kbps, however as your on go large (as am i) you wont get anywhere near that as telecom cap the plan as stated above. Your plan has a maximum upload of 16kb, so getting 10kb is about right, you should really get 12-14kb though.

If you are only consuming 10gb of data then you should move off go large and onto one of the full speed plans, you will notice a HUGE increase in speed, but lose your unlimited data.

Thanks for the replay, that is what I thought, yet when I phoned them, on all 3 occasions they said the plan was no longer capped, and also repleyed with, ?what every you do, don?t leave the plan?, which is the only reason I haven?t moved to another plan, as I?m afraid that the present speed won?t improve, yet due to your reply I think I make take the risk. I guess telecoms customers such as our selves have a better idea of there network than they do.
