I am trying to tether my new BlackBerry Bold on XT with my MacBook to use as a modem occasionally.  I've paired them using bluetooth and have added a script to my /Library/Modem Scripts folder.  Now I just need to know what to enter for 'Telephone Number', 'Account Name', and 'Password' in Mac OS X network settings.  For example, to use my Treo on the CDMA network as a modem, the number was #777, account name mobile@jamamobile and password telecom.

qraider: Try the following:

Number: *99#

Username: blank

Password: blank

APN: internet.telecom.co.nz

I tried *99# and got the following error:
DO NOT put *99... in the telephone number - use the Access Point Name (APN) for your network instead.

Then I entered internet.telecom.co.nz in the telephone number field, attempted to connect, but got this error:
Could not negotiate a connection with the remote PPP server. Please verify your settings and try again.

I've tried turning both error correction and header compression on/off but that doesn't seem to make a difference.  Also, I checked my BlackBerry and under Options > Advanced Options > TCP/IP, APN is set to internet.telecom.co.nz and enabled. Any ideas?

I'm not yet on XT but used to use GPRS on Vodafone. Therefore this post may or may not be helpful :)

There's an option in one of the dropdowns for Generic GSM (GPRS/3G). When you select it, it'll ask for the APN but there will be no field for the phone number. This is the option that I used to use, and it worked fine. I'm assuming that XT is similar.
