Services that do not require handset specific settings should work (such as any DRM music, if any). GPS is network independent.

I just imported a new i-mate ultimate 8502, factory unlocked. Worked perfectly on XT, except it wouldnt notify me if I had a voicemail (no icon or anything). I think it has something to do with the XT SIM card. I tried it on vodafone and it worked prefectly. I'm going to buy a Palm Treo Pro from the telecom store because I really need to know when I have a voicemail, and I'm not mucking around with importing another phone.
