Lack of 2100Mhz shouldn't be a big issue I'd have thought.

Any thoughts on the phone? I had a quick play with it's little brother the 705 and didn't think much of it. I was expecting around $1200ish so they've done pretty well, although most of their SE pricing seems to be good.

LAck of 2100Mhz doesnt phase me, I live in NZ not Europe :-)

I like the phone, the screen is nice and bright and bigger than expected, altho if I could figure out a way to make the text on the screen i would be happier, its rather large at present. If youre familer with SE phones then the menu is fairly intuitive, a reasonable amount of games/apps loaded on the phone and connecting to SE over Wifi for more is fairly simple (altho at present SE doesn't have much availble for it being a brand new phone).

The sound from the walkman player is nothing short of amazing, and the mediago software it comes bundled with for transferring files etc is very good, it even takes my exisiting itunes folder (thou, rather than acknowledge where it is on the hard drive it copies it to another location for its own use).
Ultimately it is a phone, with a nice camera and very nice music software. I havent fully played with all the features but it does appear to have GPS on board, thou it may be A-gps.

Biggest complaints are that it feels as thou if dropped from a reasonable height it could break (say shoulder height or more), and the slider motion can feel a tad "wobbly", but most slider phones ive played with have had this feel. The kickstand on the rear is the biggest waste of time so far, a small knock to the table etc the phone was standing on would send it tumbling over i fear. Also to get my MP3 ringtones etc on the phone i had to connect the phone to the pc and create a ringtones folder on the phone to drag the files too, \unlike other phones when ive been able to drag the items directly into the phoens "actual" ringtone folder.

Battery is at 90% since coming off the charger this mosrning at 730, so seems pretty good so far in that respect, and that includes ppl playing around with it and so on.

A nice feature (i don't know if other XT phones have it or not) is when it connects to the  net it pulls up a nessage "connecting over mobile network" to let me know its mobile and not a local wi-fi, and i can quickly cancel if needed.

The 3.5mm jack plug is a nice touch but there is also the facility to use the SE proprietary phone jack thing if i want. Once i reacquaint myself with the SE quirks I'd be able to give a better idea as to how everything works but so far Im more than happy.

Hi Guys

Just to clarify the above, Prepaid price is $999 (so is open term plan). The $1028.95 includes a $29.95 Prepaid SIM Pack, however you don't need this if you are upgrading from CDMA (only new connections).

Post-paid price if 'from' as in if you sign up to a 24 month term on XYZ plan you get it for $679.

The W995a is 850/1900/2100 MHz WCDMA.
