It is good to see telecom finally participating on these forums.

I have made a compliant before to telecom about their internet users who make fraudulent orders through my website, however any compliants I have made have gone nowhere. I receive an auitomated email about a week after submitting the compliant, saying that they will look into it, but noone from telecom bothers to get back to me to follow it up, and what they have done. Today I have had one of my clients who has also had an abusive email through their website, which I have traced back to be a telecom cusomter from the IP address. Iam just wondering why Telecoms proceedures are in these types of situations. To me, it doesn't seem that anything is done against these users.

In the past when I have made similar compliants to other ISPs such as Orcon, they have always got back to me, so a company the size of telecom, there is no excuse for not personally getting back to me.

Look forward to hearing back from telecom about this.

I doubt Telecom will reply to you here, about this.
Although there are some users here, who are able to help with some Telecom queries, they are not here to answer everyone, and help where they can. Non of the companies which participate on Geekzone are here to provide a complaints service. They have their own process and channels for that.

Have you gone to the police with your complaints also? And informed Telecom and the police who they can talk to in regards to your problems?

Investigating fraud is not Telecom's responsibility, any more than it is the NZ Police responsibility to operate a telecomms network.

Under your rationale, Transit New Zealand should investigate bank robberies: after all, bank robbers drive on the roads to and from their targets.

Can you not implement checks and balances to prevent such orders coming through?  Unless they are using a stolen credit card, I don't think you can really call them fraudulent, a better description would be nuisance.

As for the abusive email for your client, again, possible to install some basic filters to stop these coming through?  Also, has your client done anything to attract this sort of unwanted attention?  Seems strange to get abuse through email if you've done nothing (which I doubt is the case).

If I am right you ar saying that you have had a fraud/misuse issue on your site and you have tracked this back to an IP address that would have been allocated to a customer of Telecom. If this is the case you will find that NZ privacy law will forbid us/Telecom from disclosing the identity of this cusotmer. However, you are able to log a complaint that can be forwarded to the fraud department ofr invesitagation. They will however require Police involvement before they will pass any personal informaiton back to you.

Even if you had their personal details, you'd then have to bring up a private prosecution against them, and is really worth it for one fake website submission?
