I am about to receive a BlackBerry Bold for a review, and wondered about to the Telecom pages to check a plan...

Why is that you can get 240 MB/month for NZ$18, and a BlackBerry plan is 30 MB/month for $29.95?

I guess that is what RIM charges XT for accessing their servers and services? RIM is a love and a hate thing for me :( and everyone else I would say.

Edit: also XT offers better pricing for higher bandwidth, like 400mb for 35 bucks compared to Vodafone's 200MB for 40... so I may be switching, just looking at handsets availability not a fan of Qwerty ...

and from what i've read elsewhere.. Blackberry's data is highly compressed or something like that.

One guy on here explained it saying "1.5mb of BB data, is like 10-20mb of normal data (on say a WM phone)"

how true that is, i don't know to be honest.

ohh okay.

I might look into that then, although.. not keen on the Blackberry OS to be honest (but thats for another thread)

Interesting about the data though.. I will keep that in mind.. I should actually do a bit of research on it, quite amazed.
