I am having problems with my XT phone. It is the c510a Sony E.

I switch my phone off at night and switch it back on in the morning. It roams for a service and eventually says inactive sim card. I remove the battery and sim card and insert then back in. I switch the phone and sometimes it will find the service, other times it won't. it can take up to 6 or 7 attempts of this process before i get a service

I don't live in a rural area where the XT network is patchy.

My next issue is that my internet won't work (when i have an active sim). I hit the 't-world button' and proceed to wait for the internet to load. I get a message on the screen saying "communication failure, try again" I have credit on my phone so that is not the issue. I was able to browse the internet 5 hours ago but not now

My final issue is a smaller one, but still an issue. my phone is facebook accessable, well should be, but everytime i click on the facebook button my phone jams up. It will stay like this for up to 10 minutes before it closes its self.

I am seeking advice from here before  taking it inot a telecom store.

Any help would be great

Cheers.

I had a similar issue with the w995. It kept saying inactive sim, then when i tried to charge it the phone said, use a SE battery, phone won't charge. I wound up taking the phone back to the store while they looked at fixing it, instead they replaced it as a faulty phone.

There was a WAP outage today.

As to the fault, have you tried another SIM to check it's not the device causing the problem? It could be you don't have WAP provisioned on your account. Has T-World every worked? I would take it to a Telecom Store and see if you can get them to help trouble shoot the problem with you.

WAP was down today but regular data "Telecom Data" should still work if you get really stuck, just remember Tworld won't work through that but accessing m.facebook and m.gmail directly should still work.

If the facebook application fails, fully remove it from the phone and then re-install it, that should help the problem, if you still have problems, simply head to m.facebook.com on the browser.

If you start getting "invalid battery" or "not charging" issues, the best bet is to take it back, these are rare but they do happen due to the nature of the complex devices they are.

Thb I found it's down quite a bit lately.

if ur phone shows sim inactive, or no service.. try pushing the network manually.

Menu- settings - connectivity - gsm/3g only ( choose 3g only) and

choose "telecom nz" from "select network"
