first I've heard of it. Could you explain what it is, or maybe provide a link.

(Is it so bad that you needed to start 2 threads?)

Does it actually work?

If not, a search reveals this (which will also answer the question above):

The JoinME app that seems to be packaged with every XT mobile isn't too bad, but it does have its flaws.

1. It tends to take a while to reconnect to the mobile when its left for a couple of minutes. Whether this is a power saving feature or a threading issue in the app, who knows.

2. It takes ages to transfer media to the mobile.

3. It doesn't seem to exit cleanly. Most likely attributed to the potential threading issue mentioned before.

But this is the FIRST application I've ever had for a mobile that allows me to back up and restore my contacts into a CSV file without any issues! And the ability to send, receive, and backup my SMSes is just fantastic.

I'd personally like to see a bugfixed version of this application or another version made available to people who want it.
