Only the iPhone 3G and newer can run on XT network.

The original iPhone connects to GPRS/EDGE and XT network is a pure 3G (WCDMA) network.

This handset will only work on Vodafone or 2 Degrees.

No way to get it working. It's not compatible. Waste of money.

You need an iPhone 3G or 3GS to work on XT network.

You can use either the iPhone 3G or 3GS on XT.

You can't buy an iPhone outright from a store - you have to buy from Vodafone online or from Apple Store online. Apple sells it $30 cheaper than Vodafone.

The iPhone 3GS sold in New Zealand is not locked.
