Hi everybody, i am looking for the smallest device that can be used with a telecom t-stick for the purpose of travelling (e.g. on bicycle).
Does it have to be a 'mini laptop' or can it be 'internet tablet'.
A 'smartphone' would be my choice but i don't think telecom could put the 'smartphone' on the same contract as my t-stick.
I want to be able to access e-mail, trade me, surf the net a little for research on stuff, check metservice detailed weather forecast etc.
Has to have a decent size sreen, battery life....
A bonus would be to be able to listen to music, have camera, bluetooth (for wireless headphones), video.... but that is secondary.
Would be nice if it run on AA batteries but as far as i know that doesn't exist.
Surely quite a few people (with t-stick or similar) could/would like to/do use such a device as even a 'mini laptop' is still too big and heavy to use in a lightweight travel setup and the battery life is only around 6 hours compared to 'all day' for something like a 'smartphone'/'internet tablet' and the recharging would take too long, plus the 'slow power up' of a 'mini laptop' and that it needs to be used 'sitting down' instead of 'handheld' as for a smaller device.
Cheers for your help.
Al

Upgrade to XT network, and pop your SIM card out of your USB device and into a Smartphone/PDA.

AA batteries? For music, camera, bluetooth, video? You would get about 20mins use out of $10 worth of batteries!

Awesome....cheers.
Been on t-stick contract for 8 month now so will check out options for changing to XT network (seen heaps of info on that here so 'no worries' about that subject)....
Might have to wait another 4 month to make it even cheaper....
OKTA TOUCH looks good to me and cheap to come by 2.hand....What do you think about that one...?

OKTA Touch is a nice little unit. The CDMA network is schedule for closure after 5 years or so, and the device is not SIM car capable, so no swapping connections around on the fly.

Cheers again Tony.
5 years sounds ok for a second hand unit.
So what unit would you recommend for what i want?
Touchsreen would be nice....
