Hi there

Looking at switching to a 12" Powerbook. What I need to confirm is that a Nokia 6255 will work as a bluetooth model on the Telecom network?

Cheers

Yes - it's a modem for my bluetooth PDA.
you can use cdma data, or dial into your isp.

Just doesn't work on prepay.

Thanks

The shift from a Tablet PC to an Apple Mac is interesting. So the Apple will recognise the phone and e-mail is OK. Great! I am going to purchase Office 2004 for Mac. I see that the Nokia will sync contacts etc. with XP, but it looks as if it won't with Mac? I don't want to switch to Vodafone as I have all my e-mails through Telecom and the coverage is much better for me (Wanaka). Also, the bigger Apple Powerbook (although it has a slot for a GTRANS) is too big for my work.

Thanks again

not sure about syncing. I could not get the nokia to sync with windoze XP, because it requires something called "Microsoft bluetooth", which i don't have.

i did get my phone list exported from my linux desktop, (evolution), and i sent to the nokia by OBEX - but no on-going syncing.

Maybe you'll have better luck with apple.

Have a look at the Isync supported devices . Even in 10.3 my SE p910 was unsupported yet allowed contact syncing.

(Isync comes with Mac OS X and syncs contacts from Apples address book, and events from Ical).

You cannot sync the Nokia 6255 with the Mac – using the iSync app. But you can send/copy to a fro using Bluetooth File Exchange. I havent tried using it as a modem with my mac yet so cant comment.
