Where abouts from and how much? I can't see anything on the Telecom website about it, but that's no real surprise I guess.

Yeah the Windows Mobile 6.1 part does seem odd? Especially seeing Telecom's timing of listing the Touch Pro 2 coincides with the release of 6.5.

Although aren't the Touch Pro 2 and Diamond 2 both eligible for a free upgrade to Windows 6.5 anyway?

EDIT: Actually, looks more like that free upgrade is only in certain places, carriers etc - so maybe not for Telecom. I guess you could just go to XDA for a 6.5 rom, but after paying $1499 you shouldn't really have to resort to that should you?

Hi Guys,

From what I have been advised it is user upgradable to 6.5 and this is not dependent on carrier

Regards
Nic

The HTC Aus Website (http://www.htc.com/au/shop.aspx?id=92748) suggests their products are available through Brightpoint Aus (also have NZ operation) - might check availability of unlocked phones and pricing.

i believe the difference between the 6.1 to the 6.5 upgrade is pretty much cosmetic.

a few articles i have read to date indicate some minor fixes and more compatability. The device itself seems to contain everything i would need personally

I agree, it's still more than enough phone for me and certainly hasn't put me off getting one.

I mentioned the TP2 was on it's way in another thread some time ago. I'm surprised that it didnt come with WM6.5 though? No biggie, easily fixed :) $1499 hmm not surprising as we did mention this in the other thread I started. Telstra was selling it for $1495.00. The Telstra version is available online for around $800.00 to $1000.00 so I may still consider getting a Telstra one purely on the cost!

No one else had mentioned the TP2 coming to Telecom on GZ until I did :D Took it's bloody time though.

I checked the Telecom site before i went to work this morning and it wasnt on as of 7am. I only knew it was on after someone posted in the thread below.

http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=39&topicid=41609

Decent discussion on there about it, but again no real surprise with the cost. The no WM6.5 is :( Why Telecom?
