Hi all, I have just upgradedto a Sanyo 5600 - awesome phone! Anyway, I have a sony ericcson phone on prepay and i wanted to transfer it onto my nokia 6225. I took it into a Telecom dealer and they changed the ESN over on the network, but for some reason the nokia 6225 won't connect. it just says "Searching for network". Does anyone have any ideas on how I can fix this? The phone hasn't been physically damaged in anyway...The Telecom dealer reckons it will 'find' the network after a couple of hours, but so far nothing...

HELP?

kurani: my nokia 6225.

is this the same 6225 you were looking for codes for earlier? If so, then thats probably your problem. Sounds like the dealer had no clue. If its not finding any network now, it probably wont in a few hours either.

yeah it is, oh man do you reckon the 6225 is stuffed? i thought it was probably just a programming issue? yeah that dealer was a bit slow, he had about 5 attempts at programming it

I don't think your phone is stuffed. I would say that its a programming issue and some of the network settings have been deleted.

thats a relief! this is probably a stupid question, but is there anywhere other than telecom i can take the phone to to correctly programme it to recognise telecom network?

Yip - go to your local Vodafone shop or to any of the inner-city McDonalds outlets, they will be happy to help.

No sorry. You will need to either program it with all the correct codes (it clearly hasnt got the right ones), or send it away to MFR to be done (they will charge for this).

If it was me, I would ring all the dealers and politely ask for the person in the store with the most technical knowledge about phones, and see if she can reprogram it.

thank you I will do that (just spent 20 minutes on the phone with telecom - useless b***ards i think ill take in to another dealer from the one that stuffed it up hehe
