Hi I have got a Nokia N97 from amazon.com while I was in America well everything works great apart from 1 Issue I can connect normally to Telecom internet and browse any webpage.

But when I try to load wap services I cannot connect says connection not available I've been given settings from Telecom but still cannot access wap services. Really the issue is Telecom doesn't want to know me because its not one of there phones so they only have basic knowledge and cannot help me with this phone so I'm hitting my head on a brick wall getting nowhere fast

Anyone with any help would be greatly appreciated

Cheers
Grant

Which APN are you using?

You should be using TelecomContent gateway to access T World and not Telecom Data

Try using Telecom Default. From experience with my XT Samsung C5220 this is the APN that works for internet on the phone itself and tethering.

Do you get any specific error?

Have you recently upgraded from CDMA?

Why do they have all these apns for different things. Also its really annoying that Internet will not work on telecom so I have to have all these different ones there and change them around depending which sim I am using in the phone.

I have briefly accessed tworld on a n97 and got some stuff on the screen but didnt really play with it.

You won't be able to use Mobile TV on a NTSD AFAIK

I'm also of that opinion, even if using a Telecom SIM in an iPhone 3GS and entering the mobile TV address manually it gives you an error saying it is not currently available etc.

APNs specify which specific packet data network the phone should connect to according to the type of service requested. As for why there is one for MMS and one for WAP and a few others is above me lol.

Not being totally familiar with the N97 but if you can set your homepage to go to http://pdaportal.telecom.co.nz automatically then thats the wap one for Telecom PDAs.

No; if you set your homepage to http://myhomepage you will get the normal T World interface. Mobile TV however isn't an option at this stage for devices Telecom doesn't sell.

I get no reply trying http://myhomepage on both apn's

Is there a way to get the settings sent again online like you can with vodafone? I deleted all the APNs as it was being a pain getting the wap one all the time when doing other things.
