Hey all

Need to provide a commercial BB solution in some rural parts of the NI.

Sorry my XT knowledge is little or non existent - was wondering if XT has tiered speeds like the CDMA network i.e. 1x, EVDO, REV A

..or does XT always connect at same speed and practical speed is limited by distance from tower etc

Thanks in advance!

HSPA is available in all locations if you have a compatible device. All towers will be upgraded to HSPA+ soon (by the end of the year, I believe).

I've had good success with XT in rural areas of the NI, but lots of of factors will affect the speed - distance from the cell is only one part - load on the cell and other factors also affect performance.

I have found the EVDO in Rural area's isn't great (fine in most towns though) - the only area i've had issues with XT was in Te Miro outside of cambridge where my iphone and data card keep saying they are roaming which is a bit odd.

The tiers (as I understand it) are only from UMTS (384kbps) to HSPA (up to 7.2mbps typical about 2-3) then of course the new HSPA+
