Hi All

I have been looking at upgrading my phone and plan and noticed that the N85 from telecom is now $799 down from $1499 to buy it without going on a plan.

I am on Vodafone at the moment and I have to say even if I want to stay on vodafone it would be probably be better to buy it from Telecom as if I want to swap networks in future I won't have to change my handset.

I'd say go for it :)
It's a good price(the cheapest parallel imports with XT band as well are $699 with no warranty)
Since it's triband 850/1900/2100 and quad GSM, it'll work with Vodafone while you are with them. 2degrees now and in the future and XT now

I have moved across the ditch.  Now residing in Melbourne as a VOIP/Video Technical Trainer/Engineer.

Hi I noticed that as I had taken delivery of one of these at the beginning of the month (tho it was business and did not have to pay for it)... was very surprised at how much it has dropped. Nice phone but like all of them not perfect, but I am not in a position to complain :D

Don't forget to update it to the latest firmware for stability and improvements via NSU.

According to the phone the firmware is up to date, an update for the N85 was recently recent by Nokia but not for the version sold here.
