Heya all I bought a Nokia 3205 brand new last week but it has a problem heh, I can't get it to go off speaker mode in calls, and when listening to things in the gallery the volume cannot be changed, any idea of a way to fix this? as I don't want to be phoneless :o

EDIT: HAH Never mind ;) I just removed the battery while the phone was on.

lol.... sounds like a minor software glitch. If it happens again soon, take it back.

what??? disenchanted, I would say it sounds like a user issue... how do you work out that has anything to do with software?

brand new + problems means there shouldnt be any difficult if you return it
in addition.. random speakerphone/headset settings are sometimes signs of waterdamage

I assume he knows how to turn the speaker off, and when trying to do that, it wouldnt work (its a single key press, it either works or it doesnt).

What makes you say its a user issue?

this is where I would have thought the issue exists...

>I assume he knows how to turn the speaker off,

I would assume s/he doesn't.

I see no reason for the software to somehow contain a bug that would cause this to occur.

I do agree that taking the phone back if it happens again is a good idea.

If not user, I'd say hardware. Software very distant third.

Probably good idea to bear in mind neither of us have the handset huh? ;-)

As I said on the edit, I just took the battery out when the phone was on and that fixed it.

Believe me i'm not stupid enough not to know how to turn the speaker off :P

sorry cat-mince, user problem doesn't mean stupid... and that doesn't tell us if it was softtware / hardware / user. But if it's sorted, that's cool!

if it makes you feel any better - i've had the same problem sometimes with a 3105.
turning off and on fixed every time.

i got a warrunty swap eventually, but that was for a different fault. my second 3105 was just fine.
