Pantech TX130c 1.3MP will launch tomorrow on Telecom at $399 incl GST (cheapest megapixel camera phone in NZ as far as i am aware).

Sorry to give you the bad news that you will have to wait so long :-)

note for lurkers: its 262k colour screen, stereo speakers with 72 chord polyphonic, wap2 (colour wap), a swivel screen that folds back down with the screen facing out like a digital camera.

ships with handset, charger, battery, hand strap, manuals.

The TX130 is very very shiny, has nice shiny chromy looking bits. No outside screen to see caller id though. You could cruize around with the flip reversed I guess, but run the risk of smashing the display. Does anyone know the actual resolution of the camera? Is it 1 MP exact? Love that name Pantech...not

That one threw me for a moment too when it was announced.. Pantech, Curitel, Hyundai. Wish they'd make up their name.

IIRC Curitel was once part of Hyundai but was sold and they now manufacture in conjunction with PanTech.

But Yeah, Surely Curitel sounds better than Pantech, it reminds me of hospitals or something.

I Cant say what the name reminds me of- probably just my twisted mind. We used to sell Pantech pagers years back, so it is not too unfamilar. Only hoping the phone preforms better than the TX115!

2nd post in this thread: 1.3MP

And yes - Pantech - nice name, not.

Consumers will just call it the Hyundai anyway... (probably)

Quote from the Handset brochure: "Now you can capture those special moments with a photo or video clip. The built-in mega-pixel camera includes a flash, auto focus lens..." wouldn't this only make it a 1 mega pixel camera?? I think it is ay!
