OK this is probably obvious to an expert but I am tearing my hair out!!! I bought a phone from Ebay(I'm sorry but I hate all the Telecom phones available on XT) and it works great on the XT network but there is no internet access, it keeps saying "subscribe to packet data". So I've researched and found the APN list and tried every setting, no luck, same error message. Then someone told me to contact Telecom and they text you the settings to your phone, is this correct? How do I contact that service?

If you try your SIM card on another handset, does it get to the Internet? If you have the correct settings on the phone, it should just work. Unless the handset is hardcoded to use specific proxies (it happens a lot in the U.S.) it shouldn't be a problem.

"Subscribe to packet data" sounds more like an account problem than a handset problem.

What mode is this handset (it would help a lot if people gave more information when asking for help).

On a related note, why are there no decent clamshell phones available for the XT network? I hate candy bars and touch phones, but I've seen(and used) phones from overseas that have been unlocked i.e. clamshells which work fine apart from my current one of course. And Vodafone have heaps of cool clamshells, thankfully a lot of them can now be used on XT

I doubt it's an account problem as the texting works fine, no problems there. I have tried all the settings but get the same result. I read on Ebay somewhere that some phones have internet access removed, but it seems bizarre that anyone could do that, why would the settings options come up in the first place? This phone is a Nokia 6267

TXT, Voice and Data are seperate services. You should test your SIM in another known working phone.

Let us know how you get on.

Oh ok, but it's all on prepaid? I have used this SIM on another Nokia, a 6555 I think it was and that had internet access.
