Hi,

Does anyone know a code to unlock the "Download" section of the minibrowser menu, so that it is displayed? For the simple reason that I want to be able to download pics etc from wap sites other than xtra.

Having just been advised that I can only download from xtra (by telecom csrs) I'm now curious as to whether or not I will be able to use PC Suite to load and unload ringtones, wallpapers etc.

Also infrared seems to not be working, is this disabled on the 3205 by telecom also? I've only had the phone a week, and I'm now discovering that half the advertised features that made me buy it have been disabled........

Any help would be greatly appreciated. PM's welcome!!!

Use PC Suite :-) Its free.

Yes you can still use PCSuite.

Also infrared seems to not be working, is this disabled on the 3205 by telecom also?

No, Telecom has not disabled this. Have you turned infrared on? It stays on for about 2 mins, then goes off by itself (to conserve power i assume).

half the advertised features that made me buy it have been disabled........

I doubt that very much. List the advertised features, and indicate which ones are disabled, and we can hopefully get everything going for you.

The 3205 is a nice low end camera phone. Telecom/Nokia have messed around a bit especially with not being able to download 3rd party stuff in WAP, but in general its still a good wee phone.

Hi again, TY for the welcome.

Thanks for the reply, I've got PC suite on an infrared enabled laptop, andit won't detetct the phone, even with infrared activated. I've also tried to transfer images/tones form 3 other infrared enabled phones to the 3205, and none of them worked.

Is there a way to enable the download menu? I'm not asking what it is, I just want to know if one exists or not, although i realise it may be classified.....

anyway thanks for your help!!!

Cheers
Rich

I think Nokia (and other manufacturers) can remove/disable capabilities in the firmware at a carriers request, and it looks like this has been done with all those Nokias on 027, so no, I am not aware that there is any 'unlock' for it - it would actually need new firmware to be flashed in, but if you did that (if you had the ROM, the equipment and the know-how), the phone would likely not work on TNZ any more due to the changes.
