Number portability is here finally for anyone getting a Woosh VoIP line. I had been paying Telecom $22.50 customer link plus 5c per minute on my inbound calls for the last few years since I changed my home address but wanted to keep the same number. Now I have switched to Woosh for my phone line & they provide the same service for free which is awesome! Same old number with no more fees. This is saving me approx $80 per month. Pitty Telecom won’t offer the same deal to their own customers.

Number portability has existed for about 7 years between Saturn and now TelstraClear & Telecom, it is nothing new. In Wellington if you're a TelstraClear on network customer and sign up for a business phone you can keep your Telecom number
