Hi there,

Does anyone know how to make a Sony ericsson w508 phone not launch facebook every time it turns on.
Gets annoying as sometimes I forget to close it soon as I turn my phone on and therefore it charges me.

Does it let you delete the jar files or is it built into the firmware?

I have a w995 and installed the facebook addons that you have on your phone, the home screen part was annoying, I used MyPhoneexplorer (its free) to remove them, it shows a list and lets you remove apps, couldnt find away to do it on the phone itself, the facebook addons seem to install into the background

Id rather not delete it as I like the application and use it every now and then

when I had it installed, it treated the facebook app as two different applications, the launcher (whats running on the home screen and wasting data) and the other which was the main facebook application used

Go into the Facebook application and select the option relating to updates in standby or similar.

Even when updates in standby mode is turned off it still launches when ever I turn my phone on

Go to Organiser >>Applications >> Facebook >> End >> Options >> Unset as Wallpaper.

I don't have Facebook on my W705, but do you have an option for "None" under Settings > Display > Wallpaper?

Yes there is, but my wallpaper is currently just set to a photo

go to :>menu > organiser > applications > highlight FB app. then press the "C" button and accept the prompt to del the file

Also if that does not work, highlight the app, click options, select internet settings and choose a incorrect apn
