And?

I know both Claire and Tom and certainly wouldn't say it's the best work they've ever done. Simple mistake such as saying remote network controller rather than radio network controller and focusssing on the number fo RNC's which is s totally moot point and has absolutely no revelence at all.

And the article doesn't say anything new about XT...

what a poorly researched article

"leaving hundreds of thousands of customers unable to make calls for days"

ummm, no. ten(s) of thousands were unable to make calls not hundreds of thousands, and most of those got service back in less than a day.

"the race has been on to persuade customers to move from T3G to the more lucrative XT ? which lets them surf the web and download internet content to their mobiles."

well, yes it does. but so did CDMA.

Don't ever forget, the media are here to sell advertising, not to provide detailed technical information...

Exact reason why I force Adblock on sites like that.

"t3g" network aimed at the youth market", WTF DSE must just have a few of the old phones stick in inventory.

Sorry but that article has some incorrect information as well. Too many experts too much incorrect analysis.

You'd think with all these experts that keep popping up that I'd see more CV's coming across my desk from people who are currently working in jobs unrelated to their UTRAN expertise.

I had to laugh other day when I saw in my Twitter search for @telecomnz someone from a "technical publication" asking Telecom "I read your network went down, can we have more details" (not exact quote), followed by "to make sure you have resiliency you need more cellsites" from the same "technical publication".
